In 1980 Bodum designed the first tea and coffee cups in heat resistant borosilicate glass with a plastic handle, and ever since Bodum glass cups have been a big success. Bodum now carries a wide assortment of glass cups, and the Eileen coffee or tea cup is one of them. More than just a pleasing design for the hand, the high-tech, low-conduction glass keeps your tea warm longer than any other material. No other glass will maintain a look as new and clear as the borosilicate glass - even after two to three years of dishwasher use. The classic pattern of the Eileen coffee makers has been stamped into the stainless steel holder framing the glass and a reinforced nylon handle has been attached to resemble the design of the Eileen coffee makers. The steel frame and handle can be easily separated from the glass for cleaning, although it is not necessary... both are dishwasher safe!
